About this washer
This is a washer in T2 Copper, supplied copper plated. Every dimension is stated against the standard named above; where a tolerance class matters to your design, ask us and we will confirm it in writing before you order.
A washer spreads the clamp load of the fastener over a wider area of the joint face and keeps the turning nut or head from scoring the part underneath. Fitted under bolts, screws and nuts on soft or painted surfaces, slotted holes, and any joint that is taken apart often enough for the face to matter.
Copper plating gives a warm conductive surface, used for appearance and for electrical contact. It tarnishes, so it is normally lacquered.
T2 copper (99.9% pure) is used where electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance matter more than strength — earthing and electrical contacts.
