About this GB 869 rivet

This is a rivet made to GB 869, in T2 Copper, supplied self colour, with an M2 thread and a 3 mm length. Every dimension is stated against the standard named above; where a tolerance class matters to your design, ask us and we will confirm it in writing before you order.

A rivet is a permanent fastener: it is set once and removed only by drilling it out, which makes it cheap and tamper-resistant but not serviceable. Used on sheet metal, ducting, panels, luggage hardware and light structures where the joint is never meant to be opened.

T2 copper (99.9% pure) is used where electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance matter more than strength — earthing and electrical contacts.

M2 is a metric thread with an 2 mm nominal diameter and a coarse pitch of 0.4 mm (ISO 261). A standard hex head takes a 4 mm spanner across the flats.
